RSU 13 is excited to partner with Maine Health over the next week and a half to provide students with the opportunity to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at school!
What would being vaccinated mean for your child at school?
• At this time, fully vaccinated* students will not need to quarantine if they are identified as a close contact. The CDC recommends testing 5-7 days after the last day of exposure, but it is not required as long as the student remains symptom free.
• A student who is fully vaccinated will still be required to wear a mask at school and use the prescreening tool on a daily basis.
• Regardless of vaccination status, ALL students who have symptoms (2 lower risk or 1 high risk symptom) will require a negative COVID test, a doctor’s note, or a 10-day quarantine to attend school. This is per guidance coming from the Maine CDC and DOE.
*An individual is considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after receiving a 2nd COVID-19 vaccine if receiving Pfizer or Moderna or 2 weeks after 1 shot of the J&J vaccine.
COVID-19 vaccinations will only be administered to students with a signed parental consent. Please contact your school nurse with any questions.
