University of Maine Literacy Partnership

Did you know?

South School is a Partners in Comprehensive Literacy (PCL) school.

This is the second year of implementation of this model for grades 2-4, and the third year for grades K and 1.

As a PCL school, we use a workshop framework to provide differentiated instruction in literacy, including small group, whole group, and individual conferences to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

We also provide system interventions including Reading Recovery for struggling first graders, and high-quality individual or small group instruction for K-4 students who need extra help in targeted areas.
