Big Brothers Big Sisters Program Looking for Volunteers

Dear Parents/Guardians and School Community,

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine is looking for volunteers to serve as School-Based Coordinators for this school year. One of the programs Big Brothers Big Sisters offers is School-Based Mentoring in which School-Based Mentors (High School age Bigs) spend time with elementary school students (Littles), enjoying games and activities together as they build a one-on-one relationship.

The Program runs once a week for about an hour after school at the Little’s school. The Big Brothers Big Sisters School-Based Mentor program provides a setting and equipment (games, craft supplies, etc.) for the matches as well as on-site support. Program Coordinators help matches form trusting bonds with one another by providing support and ensuring child safety. The agency provides ongoing support to the volunteers, mentees and mentors throughout the course of each match to keep the mentoring friendship going strong. If you are interested in helping our local youth build friendships that can last a lifetime volunteer today! Contact Jessica at Big Brothers Big Sisters to learn more and find out how to get involved.

Thank you!

Jessica Fossett
